I’m writing a delayed review for Hotel Kintetsu Universal City, the hotel where we stayed during our visit to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka. I’ve been to USJ multiple times, but this was my first experience staying in a hotel within the amusement park. Here are my candid thoughts.
Introduction
Hotel Kintetsu Universal City, located just steps away from the entrance of Universal Studios Japan, provides an unbeatable location for theme park enthusiasts. I stayed here with my family for a fun-filled vacation to explore Universal Studios Japan.

The Room
We stayed in a spacious room that was large enough for two adults. The room was well-appointed with two comfortable beds, a modern bathroom, and a wide seating area. Everything was impeccably clean, and the noise level was surprisingly low, considering the hotel’s bustling location
The room was adorned with vibrant cartoons and graphics, creating a lively depiction of attractions at USJ.
Hotel Facilities and Services
The hotel features a variety of dining options, including a buffet restaurant with a wide selection of Japanese and Western dishes. We particularly enjoyed the dinner buffet, which offered something for everyone. The staff were consistently attentive, nice, and helpful throughout our stay.
I want to mention the pouch they gave us for free. The staff said it was a kind of entry ticket to the buffet restaurant. However, I’m not certain about that because other guests were able to enter without the pouch. Nonetheless, it was cute, and I used it to store candies.
The hotel is equipped with vending machines, ice dispensers, and on-site shops for your convenience.
Proximity to Attractions
The hotel’s proximity to Universal Studios Japan was a major highlight, allowing us to easily walk to the park and return for breaks throughout the day. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located near several shopping centers and restaurants, making it easy to explore the area.
Overall Experience and Recommendation
Overall, our stay at Hotel Kintetsu Universal City was exceptional. The combination of its prime location, comfortable accommodations, and excellent service make it an ideal choice for families visiting Universal Studios Japan. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient and enjoyable stay near the park.
