Kindle Paperwhite 10th Gen ~ A Review

With the release of the new Kindle Colorsoft, I thought I’d share my thoughts on the older Kindle Paperwhite (10th generation) that I’ve been using since 2019. I know some of you might be wondering if the older models still hold up, so here’s my take on it.

First, a quick rundown on the specs:

  • Storage: 32 GB
  • Size: 6.6 x 4.6 x 0.32 inches
  • Screen: 6-inch diagonal display

The Kindle Paperwhite 10th Gen launched in November 2018, and while it might not be available in mainstream stores anymore, you can still find it on some retail sites. So if you’re thinking about going for an older model instead of the latest, here’s my review after five years of on-and-off use (I still love my physical books too!).

Unbiased Review

After five years, my Kindle Paperwhite has held up pretty well. Sure, there are times when it’s a little slow—especially when I’m highlighting lines. Is it lagging or just a bit slow? Hard to say, but it’s never more than a few seconds. Overall, I’ve had no major issues with it.

What I Love About My Kindle Paperwhite 10th Gen

  • It’s lightweight and easy to hold.
  • Perfect size for reading on the go.
  • I can adjust the font size and style however I like.
  • Highlighting my favorite lines is super easy.
  • Brightness control makes it comfy for reading anytime.
  • The battery lasts up to 24 hours, even with full-day reading and short breaks.
  • It’s waterproof.
  • The Kindle lets you look up any word by tapping on it. You can get instant definitions or translations, making it easy to read without losing your place. It works in many languages and uses built-in dictionaries or ones you can download.

The new Kindle Colorsoft definitely has a cool color feature, but honestly, I’m still drawn to my colorless or black-and-white-display Kindle Paperwhite. There’s something nostalgic about that classic black-and-white screen that I just can’t let go of.

So yeah, for now, I’m sticking with my old Kindle and don’t feel the need to upgrade just yet!
